EMGS cultural immersion programme brings international students closer to Malaysian life in Langkawi
An Education Malaysia Global Services (EMGS) cultural immersion programme in Langkawi is giving international students first-hand experience of Malaysian traditions, food, nature and community life. Students from Sweden, Algeria, Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan shared how the programme helped them adapt to studying and living in Malaysia.

1,000 join 5km Larian Ria at Langkawi Stadium
About 1,000 participants took part in a 5km fun run at Langkawi Stadium in Kedah for Malaysia Day. The event, organised by SMK Mahsuri, started at 8am and included a lucky draw with a motorcycle as the top prize.

Maans: Sabah must be a geopark player, not an observer
Maans president Murug Vinangun Shalmon Sanangan said Sabah should become a key player in the international geopark network rather than merely watching it develop. He said Sabah's participation in the 9th Asia Pacific Geoparks Network Symposium 2026 in Langkawi was a strategic chance to build international links through communities, indigenous heritage, culture and conservation. He also said Sekolah Adat Anak Negeri Sabah will add Global Geopark as a subject.

Resorts World Langkawi, ONE°15 Marina to build new marina in Langkawi
Resorts World Langkawi and ONE°15 Marina have partnered to develop ONE°15 Marina Langkawi, a new marina with over 90 berths for luxury yachts up to 140 feet. The Langkawi project is expected to receive its first yacht in the second half of 2027 and aims to strengthen Langkawi's position as a regional marine tourism hub.

Genting Malaysia and SUTL Enterprise have announced plans to develop ONE°15 Marina Langkawi at Resorts World Langkawi. The new marina will have more than 90 berths, including space for superyachts up to 140 feet, and is expected to welcome its first yachts in the second half of 2027.

Six Malaysians held over drug smuggling case linked to co-pilot arrested in Jakarta
Malaysian police have detained six local men in connection with a drug smuggling case involving a Malaysian co-pilot arrested at Jakarta's airport. Four of the suspects had fled to Thailand and Vietnam before returning to Malaysia, where they were arrested. The co-pilot was caught with drugs worth an estimated RM45 million.
