Negeri Sembilan DOE steps up open burning checks as API turns unhealthy
The Negeri Sembilan Department of Environment has increased ground-level monitoring, especially of open burning, after air quality in several districts fell to unhealthy levels. Nilai recorded an API of 172, Seremban 168 and Port Dickson 155 as of noon. Letters were sent to local authorities and district offices to step up enforcement, and cloud seeding will be coordinated by NADMA at federal level.

Negeri Sembilan MB files two police reports, says Saifuddin
Negeri Sembilan Menteri Besar Ismail Lasim has filed two police reports over a declaration to remove the state's Yang Dipertuan Besar, which he says he was forced to sign. Home Minister Saifuddin Nasution Ismail confirmed this at a press conference in Port Dickson but declined to comment further, saying it is too early.

Melaka student with Marfan syndrome graduates from PMM with 3.81 GPA
Muhammad Akmal Yazali, 22, from Melaka, received his Electronics Engineering (Computer) diploma from Politeknik Merlimau Melaka with a 3.81 GPA despite living with Marfan syndrome and scoliosis. He was among 1,195 graduates at PMM's 24th convocation in Port Dickson, and will continue his bachelor's degree at UTHM.

Maritime agency detains 33 undocumented Indonesians off Port Dickson
Malaysia's Maritime Enforcement Agency detained 33 undocumented Indonesian migrants, including a boat skipper, after intercepting their unregistered boat off Port Dickson. All were taken to the Melaka and Negeri Sembilan Maritime headquarters jetty for investigation under immigration and anti-trafficking laws.

Negeri Sembilan MB claims he was forced to sign proclamation to depose ruler
Negeri Sembilan Menteri Besar Ismail Lasim claims he was forced to sign a proclamation document to depose the Yang di-Pertuan Besar, Tuanku Muhriz. He has lodged a police report and the state government asserts the document is invalid. The Undang Luak Sungei Ujong also confirmed the proclamation is void.

Two men arrested in Teluk Kemang over 12 housebreakings in three states
Police arrested two local men in Teluk Kemang, Port Dickson, to assist investigations into 12 housebreaking cases in Negri Sembilan, Kedah and Perak. The suspects, aged 24 and 34, were arrested on Sept 3 and remanded until Sept 9.

Sundial at Sungai Menyala Forest Reserve offers hands-on astronomy lesson
A large sundial at the Astronomy Square in Sungai Menyala Forest Reserve, Port Dickson, lets visitors tell time using sunlight. The structure, added in 2023, is used by students of Islamic astronomy and has earned a Malaysia Book of Records entry.

Gamuda wins RM3.57b contracts to build two hyperscale data centres in Port Dickson
Gamuda Bhd has secured two build-only construction awards worth RM3.57 billion for two hyperscale data centres in Port Dickson, Negeri Sembilan. The contracts were awarded by an unnamed US multinational technology company, with work slated to begin in Q4 2026.
