Immigration raids net 1,155 undocumented workers across Malaysia
Malaysia's Immigration Department arrested 1,155 undocumented foreign workers in a nationwide operation called Ops Sasar, which targeted 40 locations. The raids, which also checked 2,254 people including locals, focused on industrial and commercial areas. In Shah Alam, 117 people were detained, and 35 were arrested in Telok Panglima Garang.

LFE Engineering wins RM13.3m electrical subcontract for Ara Damansara project
LFE Corporation's subsidiary, LFE Engineering, has accepted a RM13.3 million subcontract for electrical and extra-low voltage works at a commercial redevelopment project in Ara Damansara, Selangor. The 27-month contract, awarded by Pembinaan Bina Bumi, is scheduled to run from December 2025 to March 2028.

Para SUKMA: Kelantan powerlifter Wan Nur Azri breaks national record four times, wins gold

Para sprinter Ivan Jovic wins gold at Para SUKMA, targets Asian Para Games glory
National para-sprinter Ivan Jovic Suan won the 100m gold at the 2026 Selangor Para SUKMA at UiTM Shah Alam Stadium. The 17-year-old from Sabah is using the win as a final tune-up for his debut at the Aichi-Nagoya Asian Para Games next month, where he aims to challenge Saudi Arabia's Naif Al Masrahi.

UK's Goldsboro Books opens first overseas store at Sunway Square Mall
London-based Goldsboro Books has opened its first permanent store outside the UK at The Library by BookXcess in Sunway Square Mall, Selangor. The 140 sq ft Goldsboro Room, which opened on Aug 27, operates 24 hours and houses about 2,500 signed and collectible titles. The partnership with BookXcess aims to make these editions more accessible to Malaysian readers.

Mother of former senator Ras Adiba Radzi dies in Petaling Jaya
Siti Sariah Abu, the 81-year-old mother of former senator and Bernama chairman Ras Adiba Radzi, died at her home in Section 16, Petaling Jaya. She passed away peacefully while sitting at home at around 5.20pm. The funeral is expected to take place at the Bukit Kiara Muslim Cemetery tomorrow morning.

Kwasa Land seeks approval to turn 60 acres of commercial land in Kwasa Damansara into homes
Kwasa Land, an EPF subsidiary, plans to convert about 60 acres, or 13%, of commercial land in Kwasa Damansara into residential plots, pending local authority approval. High Court to decide Sept 14 on teen charged with murdering schoolmate in Bandar Utama
The Shah Alam High Court has set Sept 14 to deliver its decision in the case of a 15-year-old boy charged with murdering his 16-year-old schoolmate in Bandar Utama last year. The defence has urged the court to acquit the boy but order his detention in a hospital for treatment of a mental illness, while the prosecution argues he was sane and planned the killing.

Selangor may shift Para SUKMA events to evening due to haze

Pedestrian killed in hit-and-run on LDP near Puchong; police seek Proton Saga driver
A man in his 40s was killed in a hit-and-run accident on the Damansara-Puchong Expressway (LDP) towards Puchong early yesterday morning. Police say a red Proton Saga struck the pedestrian, who was standing in the left lane, and fled the scene. The victim was pronounced dead at the scene, and police are investigating under the Road Transport Act.
