A 23-year-old Thai man, Faiz Hasan, was found drowned in Sungai Golok along the Malaysia-Thailand border near Kampung Pengkalan Pasir and Abe Yie in Rantau Panjang, Pasir Mas. He was recovered by Thai authorities at 7.10pm after a search and rescue operation that began the previous morning, and the body was handed to Thai authorities.

A rice smuggler is feared to have drowned after jumping into the Sungai Golok river while fleeing a raid by the General Operations Force (PGA) in Tumpat, Kelantan. Authorities seized 1,178 kg of rice and 100 kg of glutinous rice believed to have been smuggled from Thailand.

GOF seizes 4,750 saplings worth RM237,500 in Rantau Panjang smuggling bust
The General Operations Force foiled an attempt to smuggle 4,750 saplings worth RM237,500 at a road checkpoint in Rantau Panjang, Pasir Mas, Kelantan. A 43-year-old local lorry driver was detained, and the lorry, valued at RM100,000, was also seized. The suspect and items were handed over to the Kota Bharu Agriculture Department for further action.
