API readings exceed 150 at three Terengganu stations
Air Pollutant Index (API) readings at three monitoring stations in Terengganu - Paka, Kuala Terengganu and Kemaman - simultaneously exceeded 150. Air quality expert Assoc Prof Azman Azid of UniSZA said the increase suggests possible regional pollutant transport and requires further analysis including hotspot data and the MyCMAQ model.

500 hawksbill turtle hatchlings released at Kertih turtle sanctuary
A total of 500 one-day-old hawksbill turtle hatchlings were released into the sea at the Ma' Daerah Kertih Turtle Sanctuary in Terengganu today under the 2026 Nature Sustainability Programme organised by the Terengganu branch of the Girl Guides Association Malaysia. The Regent of Terengganu, Tengku Muhammad Ismail Sultan Mizan Zainal Abidin, released several hatchlings and called on the public to protect the environment and marine ecosystems.

Young Terengganu entrepreneur earns RM6 million a year from nisang products
In Kampung Batu Putih, Marang, entrepreneur Nur Nadirah Syuhadah Rahmat generates RM6 million in annual sales from nisan kerek-based products and now employs 51 workers. In Kampung Raja, Besut, batik maker Afizah Shaidi introduces wax-coated cardboard blocks to replace copper blocks, while a keropok lekor maker in Losong keeps his recipe and prices unchanged.

Terengganu air quality moderate, no hotspots detected this morning
Air quality in Terengganu is at a moderate level with API readings between 73 and 91 as of 8 am. The highest reading of 91 was recorded in Kuala Terengganu, while no hotspots were detected. The state Department of Environment confirmed the situation based on this morning's monitoring.

Sepanggar murder case of senior citizen transferred to High Court
The Magistrate's Court in Kota Kinabalu has transferred the murder case of 72-year-old Piluta Samad to the High Court. Samad is accused of murdering his former fiancée, Hamidah Husin @ Lisa, whose dismembered body was found in Sepanggar. The transfer was made after the prosecution obtained sanction for the Section 302 charge.
