Vientiane conference reviews global cluster munitions ban
The Third Review Conference of the Convention on Cluster Munitions is being held in Vientiane, Laos from 14 to 18 September. The Cluster Munition Monitor 2026 recorded at least 1,063 casualties last year, with civilians making up 87 percent of victims. Laos cleared 55,808 of the 64,898 cluster munition remnants destroyed in 2025.
