SWCorp Pahang: litterbugs offer higher fines to avoid community service
In Kuantan, SWCorp Pahang said some littering offenders tried to pay higher fines rather than carry out community service orders, including cleaning drains. A total of 3,295 notices were issued across Pahang from 1 January to 14 September, with about 200 offenders ordered to do community service in four districts.

House in Kampung Baru Cendering destroyed 90 percent in fire
An elderly man, Ismail Ali, 65, escaped after his house in Kampung Baru Cendering, Kuantan, caught fire last night. The fire destroyed about 90 percent of the semi-permanent house, and the operation involved firefighters from BBP Taman Tas and BBP Indera Mahkota. The cause is still under investigation.

Man missing at Jeram Air Leleh in Bukit Ibam found drowned
A 25-year-old man swept away by strong currents at Jeram Air Leleh in Bukit Ibam, Rompin, was found drowned this morning. He had been picnicking with eight friends before falling into the stream while holding a rope. Fire and rescue teams from Muadzam Shah, Pekan and Kuantan took part in the search.

2,000 residents of three Tumpat villages take turns on 50-year-old narrow bridge
More than 2,000 residents of Kampung Teluk Jering, Kampung Chenderung and Kampung Cherang Melintang in Tumpat, Kelantan, must take turns using a narrow bridge that is over 50 years old. The single-lane bridge is their only main access and is now dilapidated and shakes when heavy vehicles pass. Residents are calling for a new bridge to be built for safety and smoother travel.

Two dead after car collides with pickup on Jalan Gambang-Maran
Two men died after the Honda Civic they were in lost control and collided with a Toyota Hilux on Jalan Gambang-Maran, near the Kampung Paya Rambutan junction at Tasik Paya Bungor, Kuantan. The Civic driver, Muhammad Daniel Haiqal Abdullah, 17, and passenger Mohd Sharul Sufriyanto, 40, died at the scene. The case is being investigated under Section 41(1) of the Road Transport Act 1987.

Two killed in two-vehicle crash on Jalan Kuantan-Maran
Two men died in a crash involving a Honda Civic and a Toyota Hilux on Jalan Kuantan-Maran near Masjid Paya Bungor, Gambang. The victims were identified as Muhammad Daniel Haiqal Abdullah, 17, and Mohd Sharul Sufriyanto, 40. The bodies were sent to Hospital Tengku Ampuan Afzan's forensic unit for post-mortem, and the case is being investigated under Section 41(1) of the Road Transport Act 1987.

Civil servant held over secret recording of man in supermarket toilet in Bandar Jengka
A 39-year-old civil servant was arrested in Bandar Jengka, Maran, on suspicion of secretly recording video and taking photos of a 22-year-old man inside a supermarket toilet. He was picked up near the supermarket and remanded for three days under Sections 509 and 292 of the Penal Code.

Tabung Haji RCI timeline: four charged, ex-minister detained

UiTM Jengka endurance challenge: eight of nine hospitalised students discharged, one still warded
Eight of the nine Universiti Teknologi Mara students hospitalised after the Komander Kesatria Endurance Challenge at UiTM Jengka on Sept 4 have been discharged, while one remains under observation at Sultan Haji Ahmad Shah Hospital in Temerloh. One participant, 21-year-old Fadhlan Fakhry Solana Mohd Fellimal, died in the ICU on Sept 5. The annual event drew 521 participants from UiTM campuses nationwide except Sarawak.

Ceiling fire at Hospital Jengka paediatric ward, 21 patients moved
A fire broke out in the ceiling of the paediatric ward at Hospital Jengka around 7pm, forcing 21 patients including 11 children to be moved. Ten female patients and three children were sent to Hospital Jerantut while eight children went to Hospital Sultan Haji Ahmad Shah in Temerloh. The Pahang State Health Department said no one was injured and services continue as normal.

Fire in Jengka Hospital ward ceilings, 17 escape unhurt
A fire broke out in the ceiling space of the paediatric and women's wards at Jengka Hospital in Maran, Pahang, on Tuesday night. All 17 people in the wards escaped safely and the fire was extinguished by the Pahang Fire and Rescue Department in about 20 minutes. The cause and losses are still under investigation.

Pahang health dept investigates death of UiTM student at endurance event in Maran
The Pahang State Health Department is investigating the death of a 21-year-old UiTM student who collapsed during the Komander Kesatria Endurance Challenge (KKEC) 2026 in Maran last Saturday. Eight other participants received medical treatment for heat-related issues. The department has advised organizers of strenuous outdoor activities to conduct risk assessments and ensure adequate water and rest periods.
