200,000 residents in Bukit Jalil oppose 17,000-unit apartment project
More than 200,000 residents from Bukit Jalil, Bandar Kinrara and Taman Puncak Jalil are opposing a proposed 17,000-unit apartment development in Bukit Jalil, citing worsening congestion and inadequate infrastructure. The project was postponed after failing to get DBKL approval, and residents plan to submit a memorandum to the Prime Minister in October.

Box mistaken for radioactive material in Sri Petaling turns out to be team building game
Police confirmed a plastic box suspected of containing radioactive material in front of a premises in Sri Petaling, Kuala Lumpur, actually held 20 plastic bricks from a game called 'radioactive bomb' used for team building. The box was accidentally left behind by a worker from a training management company after a programme in Ipoh, Perak, and the Bomb Disposal Unit destroyed it before the Atomic Energy Department confirmed no radioactive residue.

Immigration raids 11 premises on Jalan Chan Sow Lin, 30 foreigners held
Malaysian Immigration officers raided 11 premises in the commercial area of Jalan Chan Sow Lin, Kuala Lumpur, in Ops Serkap at midday yesterday. Thirty foreigners were detained, including 11 Bangladeshis suspected of running the premises, while 19 others were held for various immigration offences. Seized items included 18 laptops, 21 printers and scanners, three mobile phones, 10 Bangladeshi passports, and suspected fake e-PLKS and police reports sold at RM150 and RM70 each.

Elepfilm hopes Konspirasi gets a cinema re-release
Elepfilm Entertainment hopes its film Konspirasi can return to cinemas after its run was halted on 28 May. Executive producer Jack Yeoh said a target date exists but official support from FINAS is still pending, and the company also plans to take the film to Taiwan and South Korea.

Driver tests positive for four drugs after crashing into three vehicles on Jalan Kampung Bandar Dalam
A Honda Civic driver tested positive for four types of drugs after crashing into three vehicles at a traffic light junction on Jalan Kampung Bandar Dalam, Kuala Lumpur, at about 3.50pm yesterday. No injuries were reported and the case is being investigated under Section 42(1) of the Road Transport Act 1987.
