Eight teams compete in kolek boat race on Sungai Kelantan
Eight teams took part in a traditional kolek boat race on the banks of Sungai Kelantan at Laman Warisan Kampung Laut, Tumpat, in conjunction with Malaysia Day. The event involved 64 participants from surrounding village communities, including islands along the river. Organised by the Tumpat District Council with Tourism Kelantan, the race saw several boats capsize amid cheers from spectators.

Teacher from SK Pulat wins RISE Educator Award 2026
Muhammad Hafizu Aiman Jusoh from Sekolah Kebangsaan Pulat in Gua Musang, Kelantan, won the RISE Educator Award 2026 organised by Taylor's College. He received RM5,000 while SK Pulat received a RM50,000 grant for the Rumah Belajar Tanpa Loceng initiative, which provides 24-hour learning space for the Temiar Orang Asli community in Pos Pulat.

JANM adopts SK Belimbing as MADANI 2026 adopted school
The National Accountant's Department (JANM) has adopted Sekolah Kebangsaan Belimbing in Tanah Merah, Kelantan under the Sekolah Angkat MADANI 2026 programme. JANM provided 22 Android Smart TVs and eight air-conditioners, installed in stages from 13 June. The programme involves cooperation between JANM, the Kelantan State Education Department, the Tanah Merah District Education Office, the school and its parent-teacher association.

Husband of Dr Ainul Baraah thanks those who helped with funeral arrangements
The husband of the late Dr Ainul Baraah Kamarudin has thanked the Federal Government, Sarawak state government and Kelantan state government for helping manage his wife's remains. Dr Ainul Baraah, one of five victims of the Air Doctor Service helicopter crash in Long Lellang, Baram, was buried at the Sri Kedeper Islamic Cemetery after funeral prayers at Masjid Al Karomah Mukim Baung Besar, Pengkalan Chepa.
