Jalinan noodle bar opens in TTDI with Malaysian fusion dishes
Jalinan, a new noodle bar in Taman Tun Dr Ismail, Kuala Lumpur, opened in June and serves reworked Malaysian classics such as Dry Laksa Ulam and Sea Prawn Sambal Goreng. It is run by the team behind Fifty Tales and sources vegetables from Bentong, Perlis and Shah Alam, with fish from Kuala Selangor.

Selangor overall champions of Para SUKMA 2026, Amirudin hopes athletes reach world title
The closing ceremony of Para SUKMA 2026 was held at the Selangor International Trade Centre (STIC), with Selangor emerging as overall champions for the first time since the games began in 1982. Selangor Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Amirudin Shari said he hopes national para athletes will go on to become world champions, and noted the age limit of under 40 for athletes. Selangor collected 93 golds, 55 silvers and 52 bronzes, followed by Sabah and Sarawak.

Selangor emerged overall champion of Para SUKMA 2026 in Shah Alam with 200 medals, including 93 golds, surpassing its initial target of 60 golds. Sabah was runner-up with 69 golds while Sarawak finished third with 52 golds. Selangor Menteri Besar Amirudin Shari hoped the national para athletes will continue to excel up to the Paralympic level.

National sepak takraw head coach Ahmad Jais Baharun says the Mekdi National Takraw League 2026 is the best platform for grassroots players to gain competitive experience. The league, jointly organised by McDonald's Malaysia and Harian Metro, opens in Seremban, Sungai Petani and Gong Badak next month before the final in Kuala Lumpur in November.

Sarawak para bowlers bag six golds at Para SUKMA Selangor
Sarawak's para tenpin bowling squad won six gold medals at Para SUKMA Selangor 2026, beating its pre-Games target of five. The haul at Sunway Mega Lanes included singles titles for Rosserrine Issawell Manong Raymond and Mohamad Yakup Winei, plus a doubles contribution from Farthin Zafirah Zaidi and Nurfariesyah Adriana Fairul. Head coach Myron Khoo Hock Ming said the next focus is the World Para Championships and getting Sarawak athletes into the national squad.

Shah Alam gang clash murder: 3 of 7 wanted suspects arrested
Three of seven suspects wanted over a gang clash murder in Taman Alam Megah, Section 28, Shah Alam, last month have been arrested. Selangor police chief Shaseli Kahhar said the arrests were made between September 4 and 7 based on public information after photos were released. Police are still hunting the remaining four suspects.

Nik Muhammad Hashraff Muazzam wins SU5 gold at Para SUKMA Selangor 2026
Nik Muhammad Hashraff Muazzam Mohd Hilmi won the men's singles SU5 (physical disability) gold at the Selangor 2026 Para Malaysia Games at the Selangor State Youth and Sports Complex in Shah Alam. The 19-year-old beat Sabah's Gerald H. Simbaku VII 21-23, 21-10, 21-10 after receiving tips from Paralympic champion Cheah Liek Hou. The win made up for disappointments in the previous two editions.

Three more charged with murder of 23-year-old at illegal gathering in Taman Alam Megah
Three more alleged gang members were charged in the Magistrate's Court in Shah Alam today with murdering a 23-year-old man during an illegal gathering last month. The charges bring the total number of people charged in the case to 11, after eight men were charged with the same offence last week. The offence was allegedly committed at 1.59pm on Aug 25 at Jalan Mandolin 33/5 in Taman Alam Megah, and the court fixed Nov 24 for mention.

BERSIH demands Najib serve remaining jail term, rejects house arrest
BERSIH is demanding that Datuk Seri Najib Razak serve the rest of his prison sentence and is opposing any move by the Pardons Board to grant the former prime minister house arrest. Its executive director, Asraf Sharafi, said this at a press conference at BERSIH's office in Petaling Jaya, a day before the board meets. He argued that special treatment for high-profile individuals would create a dangerous double standard and undermine the rule of law.

Three held, four still hunted over fatal Taman Alam Megah brawl
Selangor police have arrested three of seven suspects wanted over a brawl that killed a man in Taman Alam Megah last month. The three will be charged soon while four others remain at large. The case is being investigated under Sections 302 and 149 of the Penal Code.

MSU holds two-day SDG-ESG symposium in Shah Alam
Management and Science University (MSU) held the SDG-ESG Synergy Symposium with Times Higher Education on 3 and 4 September at the Performing Arts Theatre on its main campus in Shah Alam. The symposium brought together leaders from higher education, government and industry to discuss the UN Sustainable Development Goals and ESG principles. Businessman says he only learnt shoplots were Bumiputera lots 16 years after buying
A 61-year-old businessman says he bought two four-storey shoplots at Kota Damansara Signature Park in 2010 without being told they were Bumiputera lots, and found out only when he tried to sell one. He has lodged a police report against the developer and says he must now pay the Selangor government to convert the property to non-Bumiputera status.

Paramount Corp Bhd has opened its eleventh Co-labs Coworking outlet at Sunway Square Corporate Tower 1 in Petaling Jaya. The 19,000 sq ft space on Level 9 offers 268 seats and is currently 30% occupied, with two more multinational companies expected to bring it to 50% by month-end. MAKAF promises Proton e.MAS to karate gold medallists at Asian Games

Former general manager remanded two days over abuse of position in property firm
A former general manager of a property investment holding company has been remanded for two days by the MACC over allegations of abusing his position to approve promotions, salary adjustments and bonuses without following standard operating procedures. The remand order was issued by Magistrate Wan Noora Nisa Ngadirin in Shah Alam today. The suspect was detained while giving a statement at the Selangor MACC office.

Alam Maritim CEO charged with fraud over vessel charter rates, claims trial
Alam Maritim Resources Bhd group managing director and CEO Datuk Azmi Ahmad was charged in the Sessions Court in Kuala Lumpur with two counts of fraud over the daily charter rate of a vessel. He pleaded not guilty and was granted bail of RM300,000 with one surety. The court set Nov 18 for mention of the case.
