  1. New 'devil flower' species found in Thailand's Thong Pha Phum National Park

    Scientists have identified a new plant species, Thismia daemona, or the 'devil flower', in Thong Pha Phum National Park in western Thailand. The discovery is significant as it extends the known range of the Thismia genus, previously recorded only in Peninsular Malaysia, Borneo and Sumatra. The non-photosynthetic species is now provisionally assessed as Critically Endangered due to its tiny population.
