A lorry driver from Bandar Tenggara, Johor drove a Proton Wira over 10 hours to Terengganu for Wira Day 7.0 at Stadium Permotoran Gong Badak. Mohd Supiyan Mazlan, 37, bought six shirts worth RM540, which earned him lucky draw coupons and the grand prize of a Toyota Vellfire. Organisers said the seventh edition drew about 17,000 participants, up from 15,000 last year.

McDonald's Malaysia held its Piknik Famili Terbesar @ Mekdi at two East Coast locations, Pengkalan Chepa in Kelantan and Pantai Batu Buruk in Terengganu, on 5 September. The event offered free meals, traditional games, a children's fashion show and the Mekdi mascot, and introduced the new Ayam Goreng McD Rasa Ori menu.

Original Ulek Mayang singer Wan Salmah dies at HSNZ
Wan Salmah Wan Sulaiman, 82, the original singer of Ulek Mayang and a Terengganu cultural figure, died of oxygen deprivation at Hospital Sultanah Nur Zahirah (HSNZ) in Kuala Terengganu this morning. Her body will be prayed over at Masjid Gong Tok Nasek before burial at Tanah Perkuburan Islam Surau Hidayah, Kampung Mengabang Tengah. She brought Malay gamelan to Frankfurt, Milan, Amsterdam and Zurich, and represented Malaysia at the 9th ASEAN Arts Festival in Hong Kong in 1984.

Shop assistant charged with injuring wife in Gong Badak
A vehicle spare-parts shop assistant pleaded not guilty at the Kuala Terengganu Sessions Court to causing grievous hurt to his wife on 5 September. Wan Noorazmilrullah Wan Noorabiddin, 37, was charged under Sections 325 and 326A of the Penal Code, and the court set 8 October for document submission.

Firefighter in Kuala Terengganu Suffers Breathing Difficulty After Putting Out House Fire

Trader in Kuala Terengganu pleads not guilty to raping stepdaughter

Fire destroys elderly woman's home in Kuala Terengganu, Quran survives
A 72-year-old woman in Perumahan Teluk Pasu, Kuala Terengganu lost her home in a fire that broke out at 7:10 pm. The entire house was destroyed with losses estimated at over RM300,000, but several copies of the Quran kept in a cupboard were found unharmed.
