Couple killed in Kota Tinggi crash had told family to travel separately
A couple died when their Perodua Axia collided with a Honda BR-V at Km31.2 of the Kota Tinggi-Kluang road in Johor. Relatives said the couple had insisted other family members ride in a different vehicle before the crash, which also killed a 58-year-old passenger in the other car. The two will be buried together at the Kampung Tanjung Buai Muslim cemetery.

A husband and wife died after the Perodua Axia they were in collided with a Honda BRV at Kilometre 31.2 of the Kota Tinggi-Kluang road in Johor. The BRV's passenger, Mohd Noor Selamat, 58, was also killed. The couple were buried in a single grave at the Kampung Tanjung Buai Islamic cemetery in Kota Tinggi.

Two men held after 50km chase; syabu found in car near Kota Tinggi
Two men aged 33 and 44 were arrested after their Proton Wira was intercepted at Kilometre 31.5 of the Johor Bahru-Mersing road in Kota Tinggi early this morning. They had fled a police stop at Jalan Tun Sri Lanang, leading to a 50km chase that ended near the Taman Sri Saujana traffic lights. A search found syabu and both tested positive for methamphetamine; both have prior narcotics records and are remanded until 15 September.

Man dies after falling into newly dug septic tank pit in Kota Tinggi
A 48-year-old man died after falling into a 3-metre-deep septic tank pit under construction in Taman Permai, Temit, Kota Tinggi. Fire and rescue personnel from Kota Baru recovered the body; health ministry medics confirmed he had already died. The body was handed to police for further action.

Crescendo Corp Bhd has received the balance payment and late-payment interest for its RM263.21 million sale of a 52.544-acre industrial land parcel in Bandar Cemerlang Industrial Park, Kota Tinggi, Johor, to MSFusion Sdn Bhd. The payment was received on Sept 9, following a default notice issued in August.
