Malaysia rises to fourth top destination for Chinese property buyers, investment seen topping RM1.6b a year
Malaysia has become the fourth most popular destination for Chinese property buyers, up from sixth place in 2025, according to Juwai IQI. Chinese buyers were the most active foreign investors in Malaysian residential property in the first half of 2025, investing RM835 million, with annualized investment projected to exceed RM1.6 billion. The new wave of buyers are more focused on education and lifestyle, seeking homes in areas like Mont Kiara, Desa ParkCity, and Penang.
