Tanjung Bungah residents demand state decision on Sore Thumb coastal park proposal
Residents of Tanjung Bungah, Penang, are pressing the state government for a formal response to their proposal to preserve the Sore Thumb coastal area as a nature park. The residents' association submitted the proposal in February and has not received an official decision, despite the site being gazetted as a green lung. They have given the state a September 20 deadline to agree in principle to their plan.
