Expert: Indonesian volcanic ash no threat to Malaysia for now
A meteorology expert from Universiti Malaya said volcanic ash from eruptions in Indonesia, including Mount Anak Krakatau, poses no direct risk to Malaysia for now. The movement of the ash depends on atmospheric winds, which are currently blowing more towards Java and the South China Sea. The main risk of volcanic ash is to aviation, as particles can damage aircraft engines.
