MET Malaysia: Super El Nino could bring extreme heat up to 40°C from Jan to May 2027
The Malaysian Meteorological Department (MET Malaysia) has forecast a Super El Nino event at the end of this year, with a near 100% probability. This could bring extreme hot and dry weather to Malaysia, with temperatures potentially reaching 40 degrees Celsius between January and May 2027, increasing risks of heatwaves, water stress, and forest fires.
