Zahid proposes 'Grand Collaboration' between coalitions at Umno assembly

Umno president Ahmad Zahid Hamidi told the party's 2026 general assembly at the World Trade Centre in Kuala Lumpur that a 'Grand Collaboration' through political understanding (Tafahum Siyasi) has been proposed to avoid clashes between coalitions. He said the concept is not a merger, rests on three principles, and draws on the Treaty of Hudaibiyah, while stressing Umno keeps its own identity in any cooperation.
