Healthy ageing conference opens in Kota Kinabalu, calls for rethink of homes and communities
The 11th Malaysian Conference on Healthy Ageing opened today at the Sabah International Convention Centre in Kota Kinabalu. Organising chairman Dr Wong Teck Wee said Malaysia must look beyond medical care and redesign homes, neighbourhoods, transport and public spaces so older people can stay independent. The two-day conference, themed 'Revolutionising Healthy Ageing', brings together health professionals, researchers and policymakers from Malaysia and abroad.
