Revolut confirms customer data breach after fake government requests

British fintech Revolut has confirmed that sensitive customer information was disclosed to an unauthorised third party after it received fraudulent requests sent from a legitimate government agency email domain. The compromised data included birth dates, addresses, phone numbers and copies of identity documents such as passports and driving licences. Revolut says its systems and customer funds were unaffected and it is planning a potential public listing.
