DBKL: Walkway dining permits in place since 2017, RM30 monthly per table
New Straits Times
Kuala Lumpur City Hall says allowing eateries to place tables and chairs on five-foot walkways is not a new policy but an enhancement of 2017 guidelines, with permits costing RM30 a month per table and chair. Approvals are conditional and restricted to premises with suitable outdoor space, and converting parking bays is forbidden. DBKL seized 13,173 tables, chairs and other items in 319 operations from January to July this year.
