Minister: athletes' mental state good, six-gold Asian Games target achievable

Youth and Sports Minister Dr Mohammed Taufiq Johari said the national contingent's mental preparation is in good shape ahead of the 2026 Asian Games in Aichi-Nagoya, Japan. He is confident the six-gold target can be met and said SOPs and contingency steps are in place, including contact with Japanese authorities over unsettled weather in Nagoya. He spoke at the Oxyenergy Media Prima Merdeka Run 2026 at Balai Berita, Bangsar.
