UMNO closes assembly with resolve to return as dominant force at GE16

UMNO's 2026 General Assembly ended with a firm message that the party is no longer content to merely survive and is preparing to return as a dominant power at GE16. President Ahmad Zahid Hamidi introduced the Malaysia Biru Agenda and the TEKAD 16 formula, while Deputy President Mohamad Hasan stressed strategic discipline and not relying on other parties. Zahid also welcomed a proposed Himpunan Mega Penyatuan Ummah with PAS and gave critics two options over BN's position in the Unity Government.
