Sandakan's Tham Kung Temple marks 150 years with 6km procession
Tham Kung Temple in Sandakan, Sabah, celebrated its 150th anniversary on Saturday with a six-kilometre religious procession through the town. More than 1,000 participants, including visiting contingents from Peninsular Malaysia, Thailand, Vietnam and China, joined the parade of deity sedan chairs, lion and dragon dance troupes. Temple adviser Datuk Quek Siew Hau said the event also aimed to promote Sandakan's Chinese temple culture and tourism.
