New Straits Times
The federal government has approved eight flood mitigation projects in Melaka worth RM1.46 billion for 2021-2026, the state's Irrigation and Drainage Department said. Six are underway, with five due for completion by the fourth quarter of 2027 and one by 2030, while two remain in the design stage. Flood hotspots in the state have fallen from 157 in 2021 to 106 last year, and over 50,000 residents are expected to be protected once all projects are done.
