MICCI urges 2027 Budget to cut business costs, revisit GST
The Malaysian International Chamber of Commerce and Industry has called on the government to use the 2027 Budget to reduce the cost and uncertainty of doing business, citing higher compliance, utility and operating expenses. It wants GST reconsidered when conditions allow, clearer service-level agreements for approvals, faster tax refunds and better diesel quota management, and warns that further excise increases will drive illicit trade.
