One customer, Syahirul Daud Abdul Razak, 26, was sentenced to four weeks' jail for obtaining sexual services from the younger girl.

    A 30-year-old Indonesian ship crew member, Hafiludin, was sentenced to eight weeks' jail in Singapore on Thursday after he was caught bringing a 550g elephant ivory tusk into the country. He had hidden the tusk in a thermos flask and was stopped during an X-ray screening at the Keppel Entrance Crew office on Aug 9. He had bought the tusk from a merchant in Lagos, Nigeria, for US$150 and lacked the required permits.

    Singapore's High Court dismissed a claim by Chander Agarwal, CEO of India-listed TCI Express, to recover $468,090 he spent on former girlfriend Felicia Lee during their relationship. Senior Judge Lee Seiu Kin ruled most of the sums were gifts, not loans, and that Agarwal had failed to prove two other amounts. The couple met on a flight in 2019 and dated from September 2022 to December 2023.
