Umno Youth chief Dr Akmal Saleh said his wing is ready to answer PAS Youth's call for a Himpunan Mega Penyatuan Ummah, but wants the rally to include discussion and proposed solutions. Akmal also announced plans for a special team to help women left without support when husbands fail to pay maintenance.

New Muslim Community Conference 2026 in Kuala Lumpur to discuss national unity
The New Muslim Community Conference (NMCC) 2026 will be held at the Grand Hyatt Kuala Lumpur on 13 September. Organised by the Al Khadeem Foundation, the conference aims to foster dialogue based on compassion and respect in addressing racial and identity issues in Malaysia. He said preparations are in place for the show running until 1am, featuring over 35 songs and five segments including Cinta & Filem, Legasi and Tribute Kepada Legenda. Awie also voiced concern over the haze affecting his health, but left any possibility of postponement to fate.

Malaysian composer and singer Yasin Sulaiman said he lost hope and thought it better to be hanged after being sentenced to 30 years in prison. After about four and a half years of treatment including at Hospital Bahagia Ulu Kinta, he was released on 2 September on conditions to continue medication and avoid cannabis.

Awie promises 35 songs, five bands at Stadium Merdeka this Saturday
The Awie Rock King - Last Man Standing 2026 concert will be held at Stadium Merdeka, Kuala Lumpur this Saturday. Awie said the show features five segments with about 35 songs from five different bands he has played with, plus a line-up of top Malaysian musicians and artists. Taman Melawati flash flood causes 3km traffic jam on MRR2
A sudden flash flood in Taman Melawati, Kuala Lumpur, caused a severe 3-kilometre traffic jam on the MRR2 highway this afternoon. The flood, triggered by heavy rain, left many vehicles stranded on the road between Zoo Negara and KL East Mall. Motorists were advised to seek alternative routes.
