Indonesian man jailed a month for dropping cigarette butt in Stulang
An Indonesian general worker became the first person in Malaysia jailed for littering a cigarette butt under the Solid Waste and Public Cleansing Management Act 2007. He failed to pay a RM1,000 fine and was sentenced to a month from Aug 28, followed by six hours of community service. The offence took place around Stulang, Johor, in February.

ICA officers found two Pomeranian puppies hidden in a friend's vehicle at Woodlands Checkpoint. The wife received 19 weeks and 3 days' jail plus a $5,000 fine, and her husband the same sentence.

Woman jailed 19 weeks, fined S$5,000 over illegal puppy sales
A 28-year-old woman was sentenced to 19 weeks and three days' jail and fined S$5,000 for keeping illegally imported puppies in captivity for sale, in Singapore's first such case. 26 litterers, 14 of them foreigners, ordered to clean Johor public spaces
Twenty-six people convicted of littering, 25 of them for cigarette butts, were ordered to perform community service at five locations across Johor. SWCorp said 3,095 littering notices have been issued in the state since Aug 1, with 107 cases concluded in court and RM71,550 in fines.

Woman who set fire to Sembawang HDB doorway after breakup jailed five to six months

Police: bomb threat at Mid Valley Southkey in Johor Bahru was a hoax
Johor police have confirmed that a bomb threat emailed against a business premises at The Mall, Mid Valley Southkey in Johor Bahru was false. Bomb disposal units swept the interior and exterior, examined several suspicious objects and found no explosive material, declaring the area safe.
