Selangor defeated KL City 3-0 at the MBPJ Stadium in Petaling Jaya on Sunday, with goals from A. Selvan, Chrigor Moraes and Eduardo Sosa in front of about 5,000 home fans. The win keeps Selangor third in the Super League on 12 points, behind Johor Darul Ta'zim and Kuching City. In Kota Kinabalu, Sabah lost 2-1 to DPMM at Likas Stadium, their second straight defeat.

SBA rewards Genevie, Isyraf after Malaysia International Series success
The Sarawak Badminton Association has given performance incentives to Genevie Lim and Isyraf Hafizin after their podium finishes at the PETRONAS Malaysia International Series 2026. American 15-year-old Tama Shimabukuro beat France's Noe Khlif 11-8, 11-5 to win the men's singles at the Leapmotor Kuala Lumpur Cup, held at The Hood in Kuala Lumpur. Shimabukuro had earlier beaten Malaysian No. 1 Jimmy Liong 12-10, 11-4 in the round of 16.

Minister: athletes' mental state good, six-gold Asian Games target achievable
Youth and Sports Minister Dr Mohammed Taufiq Johari said the national contingent's mental preparation is in good shape ahead of the 2026 Asian Games in Aichi-Nagoya, Japan. Mekdi National Takraw League 2026 opens in October across three cities
The Mekdi National Takraw League 2026 will open competition in Seremban, Sungai Petani and Gong Badak from October, with the final in Kuala Lumpur in November. Gajah Emas Industries managing director Kevin Lim welcomed the under-16 league as a platform for grassroots sepak takraw development. Universiti Putra Malaysia won the overall title at SUKIPT 2026 with 35 gold, 20 silver and 15 bronze medals, ahead of UiTM and hosts Universiti Malaya. BAM open to Zii Jia training with existing players, says Tengku Zafrul

Sabah's 56-member ITF Taekwon-Do contingent, represented by three clubs, returned with 31 medals from the Hwa Rang Warrior Asia Cup 2026 held at Stadium Titiwangsa in Kuala Lumpur from Sept 4 to 6. They finished 16th among 59 teams with four golds, 10 silvers and 17 bronzes. Contingent chief Osmaiza Osman said the initial target of 10 golds was not met but praised the athletes, coaches and officials for their commitment.
