A distress call about an alleged suicide attempt behind a hotel in Jalan Keppel, Bintulu, turned out to be a minor quarrel between a couple. Firefighters from the Bintulu station found no suicide attempt and no rescue was needed; police were present to keep order.

Elderly man slightly injured after pickup plunges into ravine in Tatau
A 60-year-old man was slightly injured after his pickup truck skidded and plunged into a 10-meter-deep ravine along Jalan Budi Nasib Oil Mill in Tatau, Sarawak. The victim managed to get out of the vehicle with help from bystanders before firefighters arrived.

Kuching South mayor: Sarawak should shed haze image, embrace tech like AI film 'Michiru'
Kuching South mayor Dato Wee Hong Seng said Sarawak should project a forward-looking image rather than be associated with negative issues like haze, and that the federal government should lead engagement with Indonesia on the transboundary problem. He spoke at the press conference for 'Michiru', a 30-minute AI-produced animated film set in Kuching, which will be screened free at GSC tHe Spring on Saturday. The film was created by Isekai Zero, whose AI application has about 70,000 daily active users worldwide.
