The group, which includes two children and two guides, began their hike on Aug 29 and were expected to exit via Pos Kemar, Perak on Sept 3. A search and rescue operation is underway after family members lodged a police report on Sept 6.

The Fire and Rescue Department (JBPM) has launched a search and rescue operation with helicopter support. The family was due to exit the forest on Thursday and return to Yong Peng, Johor.
