1. Flood in Larut Matang and Selama: 76 evacuees at Dewan Changkat Larah relief centre

   Seventy-six people from 24 families are sheltering at a temporary relief centre at Dewan Changkat Larah in Kamunting, Larut Matang and Selama, Perak, after flooding. The number rose from 69 at 4am to 76 at 8am, with evacuees from Taman Larah Damai, Kampung Changkat, Taman Lela and Taman Kamunting Mutiara.

   In Ipoh, 43-year-old mechanic Ching Boon Tat has spent years photographing the limestone hills, caves and rivers of the Kinta Valley, fearing they could disappear. He founded Kinta Valley Watch in 2018 to document the landscape and raise awareness, and says his photographs are a record of what was there.

3. Pulau Burung landfill in Nibong Tebal catches fire again

   A fire broke out at the Pulau Burung solid waste landfill in Nibong Tebal, Penang, late last night. The blaze covered an area of about 36 metres by 27 metres and was brought under control at 12.30am before being fully extinguished around 5am. Seventeen firefighters from four stations were involved, and no casualties were reported.
