Parkgoers asked that recreational spots such as Bedok Jetty and a surfing area known as Longkang Point stay usable, and that marine life including sea turtles and horseshoe crabs be protected. HDB said works will start at least 130m from the shoreline in phases west of Bedok Jetty, with monitoring of water quality, sediment, noise and dust.

Transport Minister Anthony Loke said Malaysian-side station and rail infrastructure is finished and integration testing between the two countries has begun.

LTA said it is monitoring progress and will update the completion timeline later; the corridor was previously slated to open in phases from 2027.
