LKIM rolls out PADAN database to streamline aid, subsidies for fisherfolk
LKIM is now using its Fishermen Database System (PADAN) as the master database to coordinate aid and subsidies for fishing communities nationwide. Its chairman Muhammad Faiz Fadzil said the system speeds up data access, vetting and eligibility screening, and also touched on maritime enforcement and a TVET programme for fishermen's children. He spoke after a MADANI community event in Bukit Gantang.

Abang Johari: Public trust is the foundation of Sarawak's development
An interfaith thanksgiving ceremony for the 2026 national-level Malaysia Day celebration was held in Kuching on 14 September. In a speech read by Deputy Premier Datuk Amar Douglas Uggah Embas, Sarawak Premier Abang Johari Tun Openg described public trust as an essential 'infrastructure' underpinning the state's stability and progress, alongside physical facilities such as roads, bridges and digital networks.

SPA denies blocking walk-in nurses from leaving after contract ends
Public Services Commission chairman Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Jailani Muhamed Yunus said no restrictions are imposed on nurses hired through walk-in interviews who want to move to the private sector or work abroad once their contracts end. He said SPA's focus is now on a replacement plan to recruit new staff. He spoke after officiating the Pemimpin Bersama Rakyat programme and the SPA MADANI 2026 adopted-village project handover at Kampung Orang Asli Ulu Chenein, Sungai Siput.
