Lawyer: Ismail signed proclamation knowingly, without duress
A lawyer representing dismissed Undang, Tunku Besar Tampin and Dato Shahbandar claims Negeri Sembilan Menteri Besar Datuk Ismail Lasim signed the proclamation to remove Yang di-Pertuan Besar Tuanku Muhriz knowingly and without coercion. He said Ismail's claim that he signed the document without consent is an afterthought. Ismail previously insisted the proclamation signed on 3 August at Istana Laguna Biru, Port Dickson was invalid and unconstitutional, and lodged a police report on 8 September 2026.

Zahid and Negri MB meet for two hours at World Trade Centre KL
Umno president Ahmad Zahid Hamidi met Negri Sembilan Menteri Besar Ismail Lasim for about two hours at the World Trade Centre Kuala Lumpur on Wednesday. UMNO Youth chief Datuk Dr Muhamad Akmal Saleh said elected representatives from the wing who underperform, put personal interests first or are hard to reach will not be renominated in the next general election. Speaking at the UMNO Youth General Assembly 2026 at the World Trade Centre in Kuala Lumpur, he also announced the wing will adopt the five-year-old child of the late Maran UMNO Youth division chief Mohd Radzi Rahimi, with RM36,000 placed in an SSPN account.

Sultan Ibrahim, the King of Malaysia, today granted an audience to Higher Education Minister Datuk Seri Dr Zambry Abd Kadir at Istana Negara. His Majesty also granted an audience to Public Service Commission chairman Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Jailani Muhamed Yunus. During the session, the King agreed to be briefed on the Sultan Ibrahim Malay Studies Chair at Beijing Foreign Studies University.

High Court judge Alice Loke Yee Ching is expected to be elevated to the Court of Appeal on Thursday, while Judicial Commissioner Elaine Yap Chin Gaik is expected to be confirmed as a High Court judge. The oath-taking and presentation of instruments of appointment are expected to take place at Istana Negara before Yang di-Pertuan Agong Sultan Ibrahim Sultan Iskandar. The appointment will raise the number of Court of Appeal judges to 31 out of the constitutionally mandated 32 positions.
