Akmal: UMNO Youth reps who underperform or are hard to reach will not be renominated
UMNO Youth chief Datuk Dr Muhamad Akmal Saleh said elected representatives from the wing who underperform, put personal interests first or are hard to contact will not be renominated in the next general election. Speaking at the UMNO Youth General Assembly 2026 at the World Trade Centre in Kuala Lumpur, he also announced the wing will adopt the child of the late Maran UMNO Youth division chief Mohd Radzi Rahimi, with RM36,000 placed in an SSPN account for the five-year-old.

Zahid meets Negri Sembilan MB at Umno assembly over proclamation claim
Umno president Ahmad Zahid Hamidi met Negri Sembilan Menteri Besar Ismail Lasim at the World Trade Centre Kuala Lumpur on the sidelines of the 2026 Umno General Assembly. The meeting followed Ismail's claim that he was pressured into signing a proclamation on the removal of the Yang di-Pertuan Besar of Negri Sembilan, over which he has lodged a police report.

Former Tabung Haji chairman Datuk Seri Abdul Azeez Rahim was released at about 3pm today after two days in remand to assist investigations into a fraud case linked to TH hibah payments. His lawyer confirmed he will attend the UMNO general assembly at the World Trade Centre Kuala Lumpur tonight. Yesterday, the Magistrate's Court rejected a police application to extend his remand, and he also faces charges at the Sessions Court.

Three more charged with murder of 23-year-old at illegal gathering in Taman Alam Megah
Three more alleged gang members were charged in the Magistrate's Court in Shah Alam today with murdering a 23-year-old man during an illegal gathering last month. The charges bring the total number of people charged in the case to 11, after eight men were charged with the same offence last week. The offence was allegedly committed at 1.59pm on Aug 25 at Jalan Mandolin 33/5 in Taman Alam Megah, and the court fixed Nov 24 for mention.

BERSIH demands Najib serve remaining jail term, rejects house arrest
BERSIH is demanding that Datuk Seri Najib Razak serve the rest of his prison sentence and is opposing any move by the Pardons Board to grant the former prime minister house arrest. Farmer, 52, shot dead outside child's rented house in Banting
A 52-year-old local farmer was shot dead in front of a rented house in Teluk Bunut, Banting, between 10.30pm and 11pm on Tuesday. Selangor police chief Datuk Shazeli Kahar said the victim is believed to have gone to check on the house, which was rented by his child and unoccupied at the time. Police have detained a local man in his 20s to 30s and obtained a two-day remand order; the case is being investigated under Section 302 of the Penal Code.

A 50-year-old lorry driver was fined RM30,000 by the Sessions Court in Seremban after pleading guilty to five charges of sending obscene WhatsApp messages to his ex-wife's current husband. Foreign man held over scratching eight cars at TRX parking
A 34-year-old foreign man was arrested in Kuala Lumpur on suspicion of scratching at least eight vehicles at a parking area near The Exchange TRX. Dang Wangi police received 11 reports, including three from TRX management, with losses estimated at about RM3,000.
