Couple killed in Kota Tinggi crash had told family to travel separately
A couple died when their Perodua Axia collided with a Honda BR-V at Km31.2 of the Kota Tinggi-Kluang road in Johor. Relatives said the couple had insisted other family members ride in a different vehicle before the crash, which also killed a 58-year-old passenger in the other car. Couple and third driver killed in crash on Kota Tinggi-Kluang road
A husband and wife died after the Perodua Axia they were in collided with a Honda BRV at Kilometre 31.2 of the Kota Tinggi-Kluang road in Johor. The BRV's passenger, Mohd Noor Selamat, 58, was also killed. The couple were buried in a single grave at the Kampung Tanjung Buai Islamic cemetery in Kota Tinggi.

Police: bomb threat at Mid Valley Southkey in Johor Bahru was a hoax
Johor police have confirmed that a bomb threat emailed against a business premises at The Mall, Mid Valley Southkey in Johor Bahru was false. Bomb disposal units swept the interior and exterior, examined several suspicious objects and found no explosive material, declaring the area safe. Police also recalled a similar hoax email in July about Centrepoint South Tower at Mid Valley City in Kuala Lumpur.

Bukit Panjang condo MCST sues developer and four others over balcony concrete fall
The management corporation of Foresque Residences in Bukit Panjang is suing the developer, architect, structural engineer, railing engineer and subcontractor over alleged construction defects after a piece of concrete fell 20m from a third-floor balcony in February 2025. Tests later found about 60 per cent of balcony slab edges at Block 105 produced hollow sounds. The defendants have filed defences at the High Court denying liability.

Worker, 35, dies at Jurong Port Road site after being hit by compressed air hose
A 35-year-old construction worker died at a worksite at 37 Jurong Port Road on Sep. 11 after being struck by a hose connected to a compressed air pump during foundation works. The Ministry of Manpower identified Keller Foundations (S E Asia) Pte Ltd as occupier and employer, and has instructed the company to stop all concreting works while it investigates.

Rider without helmet rams traffic cop, breaking his right hand
A motorcyclist without a helmet rammed a traffic policeman during an Op Motosikal operation in Kota Tinggi at 10.03am. The officer suffered a broken right hand and was taken to Hospital Kota Tinggi, while the 24-year-old local suspect was arrested at the scene. The case is being investigated under Section 42(1) of the Road Transport Act 1987, Section 186 and Section 322 of the Penal Code.

Pasir Ris bedroom fire: two taken to hospital, 20 evacuated
A fire broke out in the bedroom of an eighth-floor HDB flat at Block 722 Pasir Ris Street 72 on the morning of Sept 13. Two people were taken to Singapore General Hospital for smoke inhalation and about 20 residents were evacuated as a precaution. A 30-year-old Indonesian crew member was arrested at Keppel Entrance Crew Office in Singapore on August 9, 2026, after ICA officers found an elephant ivory tusk concealed inside a modified tumbler in his baggage. Mujahid ready to assist MACC probe into Tabung Haji RCI findings
Mujahid Yusof Rawa said he is ready to assist the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission's investigation into the Tabung Haji RCI findings, but has yet to receive any official notice. He said nearly half of the 14 cases referred for action were already known when he led the ministry in 2018. Car driver arrested for drug-driving after Rochor crash involving bus and PAB
A 31-year-old car driver was arrested for drug-driving after his car rear-ended an SBS Transit bus at a bus stop along Middle Road in Rochor on the evening of Sept 12. Police in Kulai fired a shot at the tyres of a Perodua Myvi after two suspects rammed an officer on Jalan Kenari, Bandar Putra, Kulai early yesterday. Johor Immigration detains 47 undocumented migrants in Senai raid
Johor Immigration officers raided residential areas around Senai in Kulai at 12.30am and detained 47 undocumented migrants aged 20 to 48. The group comprised Myanmar, Bangladeshi and Indonesian nationals without valid travel documents or who had overstayed. They are being investigated under the Immigration Act 1959/63 and held at the Setia Tropika Immigration Depot.

Two men held after 50km chase; syabu found in car near Kota Tinggi
Two men aged 33 and 44 were arrested after their Proton Wira was intercepted at Kilometre 31.5 of the Johor Bahru-Mersing road in Kota Tinggi early this morning. They had fled a police stop at Jalan Tun Sri Lanang, leading to a 50km chase that ended near the Taman Sri Saujana traffic lights. A search found syabu and both tested positive for methamphetamine; both have prior narcotics records and are remanded until 15 September.
