Hua Shang pledges full financial backing for proposed Sarawak Chinese university
Hua Shang Economic Corporation (Sibu) Bhd has pledged full financial support for the establishment of a Sarawak Chinese Independent University should one be proposed in the future. Founder Tan Sri Datuk Tiong Su Kouk made the pledge at the opening of the corporation's new Wisma Hua Shang building in Kuching, which also marks its expansion from Sibu.

Sheda Institute, Curtin Malaysia sign MoU on talent, research, BIM adoption
The Sarawak Housing and Real Estate Developers Association (Sheda) Institute and Curtin University Malaysia have signed a memorandum of understanding to collaborate on talent development, research, and technology adoption in Sarawak's real estate and construction sectors. The MoU was exchanged at the Sheda Property Expo 2026 in Kuching, witnessed by Deputy Premier Dr Sim Kui Hian.

Zecon proposes RM54.36m sublease of 302 acres in Kuching for solar farm
Zecon Bhd, through its subsidiary Zecon Renewables (Sarawak), plans to sublease 122.18 hectares of land at Kota Petra Green Technology Park in Kuching, Sarawak from Zecon Solar in a related-party transaction valued at RM54.36 million. The land will be used to develop a 100 MWac solar photovoltaic farm to supply power to Syarikat SESCO, with the proposal expected to be completed by the fourth quarter of 2026.
