Muhyiddin acquitted of four Jana Wibawa charges, hopes for full freedom
The High Court in Kuala Lumpur acquitted former prime minister Muhyiddin Yassin of four of seven charges linked to the Jana Wibawa programme. Muhyiddin, 79, said he felt vindicated and hoped to be cleared of the remaining charges. His lawyers objected to a discharge not amounting to an acquittal and sought a full acquittal, which the court granted.

Four children who fell into Kulim drain buried in single grave
Four children who fell into a drain at Taman Desa Kayangan, Sungai Karangan, Kulim last night have completed post-mortems at the Forensic Department of Hospital Sultanah Bahiyah, Alor Setar. Their bodies will be taken back to Kulim for burial in a single grave at the Tanah Perkuburan Islam Masjid Sungai Karangan today. The incident happened when they tried to retrieve a ball that had fallen into the drain.

Childminder in Air Itam charged with negligence over 13-month-old baby's death
A 44-year-old childminder was brought before the Sessions Court in Georgetown today, accused of exposing a 13-month-old boy in her care in a manner that may have caused his death. Man who stabbed wife 13 times remanded seven days in Kulim

Four boys drown in drain at Taman Desa Kayangan, Kulim
Four boys aged eight to 12 died after falling into a drain at Taman Desa Kayangan, Sungai Karangan, Kulim, on Monday evening while trying to retrieve a football. Two died at the scene and two more died on the way to Kulim Hospital. Police say the drain was about 10 feet deep and there were no witnesses.

A 39-year-old woman died after her husband allegedly stabbed her 13 times with a folding knife at their home in Taman Tiram, Kulim Hi-Tech, Kulim, last night. The 43-year-old suspect surrendered at Lunas police station and the case is being investigated under Section 302 of the Penal Code.

Factory bus plunges into drain near Jalan Tun Dr Awang roundabout, driver hurt
A factory bus crashed through a road divider and fell into a three-metre-deep drain near the Jalan Tun Dr Awang roundabout in Penang during evening peak hour. The 49-year-old driver was trapped and later extricated by firefighters before being taken to Penang Hospital.

Old tree falls in George Town, injuring family of three

Body of man found in 10m-deep drain at Jalan Pantai Jerejak

The Perai Fire and Rescue Station received a call from police at 12.10pm to help lift the body, and the five-member operation ended at 12.47pm. The body was handed to police for further action.
