Chief Justice: judiciary built on judges' character, not grand courthouses
At reference proceedings at the Palace of Justice in Putrajaya, Chief Justice Tun Wan Ahmad Farid Wan Salleh said the judiciary's standing comes from the character and conduct of judges, not from imposing buildings. The event honoured four former senior judges: Tun Mohd Eusoff Chin, Tun Mohamed Dzaiddin Abdullah, Tun Abdul Hamid Mohamad and Tan Sri Siti Norma Yaakob.

KPPA: Stop repeated errors in public sector human resource management
Public Service Director-General Tan Sri Dr Wan Ahmad Dahlan Abdul Aziz called for an end to repeated errors in public sector human resource management by addressing root causes. He said this at the Public Sector Human Resource Management Conference at the Putrajaya International Convention Centre today. JPA has carried out 61 consultation programmes since 2024.

Parliament open day draws 11,280 visitors, beating target
A two-day Parliament open day that began yesterday drew 11,280 visitors, above the initial target of 10,000. Dewan Negara president Datuk Awang Bemee Awang Ali Basah said it was the programme's best showing since it began in 2023. The event aims to bring Parliament closer to the people by letting the public see the proceedings inside the Dewan Rakyat and Dewan Negara.

Ahmad Zahid thanks followers of his policy speech, keeps 'guru' reference
UMNO president Ahmad Zahid Hamidi posted on Facebook today asking supporters to keep following him ahead of his winding-up speech at the 2026 UMNO General Assembly at the World Trade Centre Kuala Lumpur. He had earlier drawn delegates' attention by repeatedly referring to someone he called only 'guru'. Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim also used the terms 'guru' and 'slay' in a Facebook post from New Delhi for the 18th BRICS Summit.

PAS Youth chief attends Umno Youth assembly at WTCKL
PAS Youth chief Afnan Hamimi Taib Azamudden attended the Umno Youth general assembly at the World Trade Centre Kuala Lumpur today, returning Umno Youth chief Dr Akmal Saleh's visit to the PAS Youth muktamar last week. The reciprocal visits come as ties between the two parties' wings draw attention after an understanding in the Negeri Sembilan state election.
