  1. Most Johor Bahru city pedestrian bridges to be ready this year

    Most of the pedestrian overhead bridges (POB) around the Johor Bahru city center are expected to be completed this year to support the RTS Link service at Bukit Chagar station. The remaining construction will continue until 2027. Jalan Jim Quee has also been closed to private vehicles to ease congestion.

    Singapore's Land Transport Authority announced the completion of the RTS Link Woodlands North station on Sept 4. The 4km cross-border link between Singapore and Malaysia is on track to begin operations in 2027, with a projected daily ridership of 40,000.

The system, which started on Aug 21, has been welcomed by locals and businesses, and similar gantries are planned for Dataran Larkin and Larkin Perdana as part of efforts to ease traffic ahead of the RTS Link launch in 2027.
