Police: bomb threat at Mid Valley Southkey in Johor Bahru was a hoax
Johor police have confirmed that a bomb threat emailed against a business premises at The Mall, Mid Valley Southkey in Johor Bahru was false. Bomb disposal units swept the interior and exterior, examined several suspicious objects and found no explosive material, declaring the area safe. Police also recalled a similar hoax email in July about Centrepoint South Tower at Mid Valley City in Kuala Lumpur.

Bukit Panjang condo MCST sues developer and four others over balcony concrete fall
The management corporation of Foresque Residences in Bukit Panjang is suing the developer, architect, structural engineer, railing engineer and subcontractor over alleged construction defects after a piece of concrete fell 20m from a third-floor balcony in February 2025. Tests later found about 60 per cent of balcony slab edges at Block 105 produced hollow sounds. The defendants have filed defences at the High Court denying liability.

Johor coconut sellers see smaller hot-weather sales boost as Singapore supply grows

Mandai and Upper Jurong Road dormitory sites to be sold by 2027
Two purpose-built dormitory sites in Mandai and Upper Jurong Road will be put up for sale by the Government in 2027 on 30-year leases. Johor Bahru court orders developer to pay RM10.57mil to 84 Princess Cove buyers
The Johor Bahru High Court has ordered R&F Development Sdn Bhd to pay about RM10.57 million in compensation to 84 owners of Princess Cove condominium units over late delivery of their homes. Judge Wong Mee Ling ruled that amendments to the sale and purchase agreements made by the developer without buyers' consent were invalid, and dismissed claims by 39 other plaintiffs who signed their agreements after the building plans were amended.

Johor to convert six Medan Niaga Kampung Melayu Majidee shop lots into Malaysia's first food-court NCD clinic
Six shop lots at Medan Niaga Kampung Melayu Majidee in Johor Baru will be refurbished into Malaysia's first non-communicable disease clinic located inside a food court, at a cost of RM1 million. The Johor Baru City Council project will move NCD follow-up services from the Majidee public clinic and is expected to serve about 200 patients daily when it opens early next year. HDB playground design guidelines take effect, Woodlands upgrades under way
Singapore's Housing Board released playground design guidelines in December 2025 setting mandatory features for playgrounds in new Build-To-Order estates and those being redesigned or upgraded, including HDB public parks. The rules group play into physical, creative and social categories, and the first playground built to them, the Kingfisher, is coming to 628 Woodlands Ring Road as part of an estate upgrade. Other Woodlands playgrounds, including a chicken-themed one at 619 Woodlands Drive 52 and a crab tower at 631 Woodlands Ring Road, are also planned.
