Sumpitan village clinic and quarters destroyed in Lenggong fire
A village clinic building and a quarters in Kampung Sumpitan near Lenggong, Perak were destroyed in an early morning fire. The Perak Fire and Rescue Department received the emergency call at 4.04am and the blaze was fully extinguished by 6.24am. No victims were reported, but a Proton Preve car was also damaged.

Malaysian woman held in New Delhi, 15kg cannabis seized
A 22-year-old Malaysian woman from Perak was arrested at Indira Gandhi International Airport in New Delhi on 4 September after 30 plastic packets containing more than 15kg of cannabis were found in her trolley bag. She arrived from Kuala Lumpur on Batik Air flight OD205 and has a prior drug-related record, and remains in Indian custody.

Perak: residents' associations need approval before hiring security guards
Residents' associations in Perak cannot appoint or train security guards for Community Security Schemes without approval and compliance with regulations. Man found bound in septic tank, five remanded four days
In Nibong Tebal, Penang, the body of a man in his 50s was found with hands and feet bound inside a septic tank behind a terrace house in Taman Seri Bistari. Five individuals including a woman were remanded for four days starting today by Magistrate J Savinder Singh in Bukit Mertajam under Section 365 of the Penal Code. RM30,000 in cash was allegedly transferred from the victim's bank account to a grocery shop in Sungai Bakap before the incident was reported.

Motorcyclists tour Lenggong heritage sites
A group of motorcyclists led by Norhadi Kaharuddin explored historical and heritage sites in Lenggong, Perak over four days from 28 to 31 August. Police arrested three men suspected of stealing an excavator in Kampung Sumpitan, Lenggong. The suspects, aged 29 to 66, were detained in two raids in Ipoh and Gerik. Police also seized a Mitsubishi ES110 excavator and a mobile phone.

Ex-KPTM Ipoh administrator faces six charges over female students
A former administrator of Kolej Poly-Tech Mara (KPTM) in Ipoh was charged in court with six offences involving alleged criminal force against two female students and obscene words against four others. Roykarnaen Maseri, 44, pleaded not guilty to all charges, which were allegedly committed at the college and other locations in Ipoh between June and August. The court set bail at RM8,000.
