Elderly man, 66, killed by elephant while searching for cow in Kuala Krai
A 66-year-old man died after being attacked by an elephant while searching for his missing cow at Ladang Lepan Kabu, Kuala Krai, yesterday afternoon. The victim, Ghazali Setapa, is believed to have been trampled after getting too close to the animal. His body was taken to the Forensic Unit of Sultan Ismail Petra Hospital for a post-mortem.

Worker dies of heart attack in septic tank pit at Kubang Kerian construction site
A 48-year-old worker died after suffering a heart attack while installing a septic tank at a house under construction in Taman Permai Demit, Kubang Kerian, Kota Bharu. The victim, Zakari Mat Jusoh, was found unconscious and was pronounced dead by a medical officer. His body was sent to Raja Perempuan Zainab II Hospital for further action.

Rubber tapper's son in Rantau Panjang saves for university
Mohamad Aminrullah Kamaruddin, 19, from Kampung Tasek Gondang in Rantau Panjang, works as a rubber tapper and does odd jobs to save money for his studies at UniSZA, Terengganu. His parents had to borrow money to pay for his fees. The Raja Shamri Foundation also gave him a laptop and cash.
