Pahang haze worsens, all five API stations record unhealthy readings
Hazy conditions and reduced visibility hit several areas in Pahang today, with all five API monitoring stations in the state recording unhealthy readings. Indera Mahkota in Kuantan recorded 164, the highest in Pahang since the haze began, and schools in Kuantan have suspended outdoor co-curricular activities. A state committee chairman advised residents to limit outdoor activity, avoid open burning and wear masks.

26 litterers, 14 of them foreigners, ordered to clean Johor public spaces
Twenty-six people convicted of littering, 25 of them for cigarette butts, were ordered to perform community service at five locations across Johor. SWCorp said 3,095 littering notices have been issued in the state since Aug 1, with 107 cases concluded in court and RM71,550 in fines.

Elderly motorcyclist dies after collapsing on road in Tampin
A 65-year-old man died after collapsing while riding his motorcycle against traffic on Jalan Tampin-Gemas in Tampin, Negeri Sembilan. He was taken to Tampin Hospital but was pronounced dead at 3.45pm. Police are investigating under the Road Transport Act.

Johor bus crash rescue by passengers wins praise online
A video showing passengers helping each other escape from an overturned express bus on the North-South Expressway in Johor has gone viral. The bus was heading to Singapore when it reportedly lost control and overturned into a drain between Pagoh and Yong Peng. The rescue effort has been widely praised as a display of Malaysian unity.
