Carolan confident Speedy Tigers can reach 2026 Asian Games final
National hockey coach Brendon Carolan believes his Speedy Tigers squad can reach the final of the Aichi-Nagoya 2026 Asian Games and secure a ticket to the Los Angeles 2028 Olympics. He said the team has shown improvement in its playing pattern and defence over the past two and a half months, and is targeting wins over Pakistan and China to top Group B.

MHC tells national hockey players to ignore negative social media posts
At a press conference at the National Hockey Stadium in Bukit Jalil on Friday, Malaysian Hockey Confederation deputy president Datuk Ahmad Najmi Abdul Razak urged national players to ignore negative social media comments and focus on the Asian Games. MHC has set a top-four target for the women's team, coached by C. R. Kumar, who has introduced a tougher strength and conditioning programme.

Carolan under pressure as Malaysia name Asian Games hockey squad
Malaysia Hockey Confederation wants the national men's team in the Aichi-Nagoya Asian Games final, where gold earns a place at the 2028 Los Angeles Olympics. Coach Brendon Carolan named his squad at the National Hockey Stadium in Bukit Jalil on Friday after Malaysia finished last among 16 teams at the World Cup in Belgium. Defender Syed Syafiq Syed Cholan was replaced by Che Nur Aqilrullah Che Khairuzi Anwar due to a hamstring injury.

St Paul's Seremban honours five hockey Olympians at centenary reunion
St Paul's Institution in Seremban held its Old Paulians' Association centenary reunion on Sept 5, where five former students who became Malaysian hockey Olympians were given legacy recognition certificates and plaques. Franco D'Cruz, 79, accepted the award for himself and for his 1972 Munich teammate Brian Sta Maria, 76, who was in hospital. Stephen Van Huizen, Gary Fidelis and Suriaghandi Suppiah were also honoured.
