Fallen trees and minor landslide block Ranau-Telupid road, vehicles stranded
Several trees fell and blocked both lanes of the Ranau-Telupid road in Sabah during heavy rain on Monday night, stranding many vehicles. The Telupid Civil Defence Force team was deployed to clear the trees and a minor landslide, completing the operation just after midnight.

A fire in Kampung Mangkadait, Ranau, destroyed two houses and belongings on Wednesday afternoon, leaving two families homeless. The Fire and Rescue Department received the call at 2.45pm and dispatched a team, but villagers had mostly extinguished the blaze with tap water before they arrived.

Elderly driver fined RM5,000 for careless driving on Ranau-Telupid road
A 77-year-old man, Lim Jet Cheng, was fined RM5,000 by the Magistrate's Court in Ranau for careless driving. The offence occurred on April 7, 2026, at KM53 of Jalan Ranau-Telupid, where his Isuzu D-Max collided with a Nissan lorry. He was charged under Section 43(1) of the Road Transport Act 1987.
