59 Indonesians detained in Ops Sapu raids around Kuching
Malaysian Immigration in Sarawak detained 59 Indonesian nationals in Ops Sapu at three locations around Kuching city from 12 September to yesterday. A total of 92 individuals were screened, with those held suspected of various immigration offences under the Immigration Act 1959/63. All detainees were taken for further action.

Road repair at Kampung Grait-Git collapse to start this week

Sarawak International Open tenpin bowling ends with 663 entries

Traffic police in Kuching impounded 99 motorcycles and issued 222 summonses during a nine-and-a-half-hour operation along Jalan Tun Sallehuddin. A 17-year-old rider was arrested for allegedly using a false licence plate, and 208 people and 187 vehicles were inspected.

Police examine flight path and refuelling stops in Long Lellang helicopter crash
Sarawak police are widening their investigation into the Air Doctor Service helicopter crash at Long Lellang, Ulu Baram, looking at the flight path and where the aircraft refuelled. Nineteen witnesses have been recorded so far and no indication of anything other than an accident has emerged. The technical probe is with the Air Accident Investigation Bureau.

Debra Moset's family in Kampung Semadang mourns loss after Long Lellang helicopter crash
The family of the late Debra Moset, who died in a helicopter crash involving the Flying Doctor Service in Long Lellang, Ulu Baram last Tuesday, is grieving at their home in Kampung Semadang, Padawan. Her mother, Renog Rasas, said Debra had asked her to help clean a new house where the family planned to celebrate Christmas together. Debra's remains arrived home today and she will be buried tomorrow.

Lorry falls into drain at Jalan Mendu after unauthorised structure collapses, MBKS reminds owners to get approval
A seven-tonne lorry fell into a drain at Jalan Mendu in Kuching on Friday morning when an unauthorised structure covering the drain collapsed under its weight. Sarawak takes 5,000 health worker shortfall to JPA

Free health screenings for 250 Bau residents under MOHE Prihatin Madani
A total of 250 residents in Bau received free healthcare services on Saturday (Sept 12) through the Ministry of Higher Education's Prihatin Madani 2026 outreach programme. Organised with the Consortium of Malaysian Public University Teaching Hospitals, it involved 130 specialists and staff from 10 teaching hospitals, offering screenings, consultations, medication and home visits to bedridden patients.
