Nineteen individuals were trapped by a flash flood at Lata Debu in Baling today. The Baling Fire and Rescue Station took nearly four hours to rescue all victims, aged between 20 and 25. All were saved without injury.

Elephant from Kampung Kolam relocated to Royal Belum
A male elephant that wandered into Kampung Kolam, Ajil, Hulu Terengganu last week was captured and relocated to Royal Belum State Park this morning. The operation involved 24 personnel from Terengganu Perhilitan and the National Elephant Conservation Centre in Kuala Gandah, with two trained elephants assisting. More than 1,000 residents gathered to watch the relocation.

Two security personnel died in the operation.

A caterer serving a boarding school in Lenggong, Perak has been ordered to close after 159 students and staff developed symptoms of suspected food poisoning. Sumpitan village clinic and quarters destroyed in Lenggong fire
A village clinic building and a quarters in Kampung Sumpitan near Lenggong, Perak were destroyed in an early morning fire. The Perak Fire and Rescue Department received the emergency call at 4.04am and the blaze was fully extinguished by 6.24am. No victims were reported, but a Proton Preve car was also damaged.

Motorcyclists tour Lenggong heritage sites
A group of motorcyclists led by Norhadi Kaharuddin explored historical and heritage sites in Lenggong, Perak over four days from 28 to 31 August. The trip covered Hutan Lipur Lata Kekabu, Bukit Sapi, Lata Perahu, 'Mini Amazon' Kampung Beng and the Lenggong Valley Archaeological Gallery. Three men arrested, stolen excavator in Lenggong recovered
Police arrested three men suspected of stealing an excavator in Kampung Sumpitan, Lenggong. The suspects, aged 29 to 66, were detained in two raids in Ipoh and Gerik. Police also seized a Mitsubishi ES110 excavator and a mobile phone.
